Cabinet painting fails more often over what was left on the doors than over the paint that went on them. Years of cooking leave a film of grease that no coating will bond through. So the work starts with degreasing, then scuff-sanding the existing finish flat, then a bonding primer chosen for whatever is underneath. Doors and drawer fronts come off and get labelled so they go back where they came from, and we finish them separately from the frames still on the wall.
